Chapter 1: The Potential of Online Writing

Making money online often seems like a myth, riddled with scams, until you achieve your first payout. My journey began with a modest $69 in nine months and escalated to over $97,000 in the following six months. I'm not here to flaunt a get-rich-quick scheme or promote dubious courses; instead, I concentrated on a single endeavor and committed to it daily.

That endeavor was "Writing Online." By dedicating just a few hours each day, I managed to generate an impressive $3 million annually. However, I wouldn't categorize myself as a millionaire writing guru; my monthly income from writing is around $4,500.

Interestingly, there's a remarkable individual who earns upwards of $3 million each year simply by writing what she loves. How does she achieve this? She operates a paid newsletter on Substack, charging $5 a month for subscriptions.

Chapter 2: The Success of a Substack Newsletter

Once a history professor, she now pens articles about current affairs. Since launching her newsletter in November 2019, she has attracted more than 1.2 million subscribers. Notably, she avoids accepting any paid advertisements, preferring to maintain the integrity of her content.

While I can't confirm her exact number of paying subscribers, reports suggest she had over 100,000 a few months ago. Currently, estimates indicate she has around 80,000 paying members. If we assume a conservative figure of 50,000 members at $5 each, that translates to $250,000 monthly—accumulating to more than $3 million yearly.

This estimate is rough, but I believe her actual earnings surpass that figure. Remarkably, she doesn’t provide any extravagant perks to her subscribers; instead, she curates news that resonates with her audience, delivering her insights along with historical context, drawing from her 30-plus years as a professor.

I'm continually impressed by her Substack profile and the substantial income she generates from a straightforward daily newsletter. This highlights the immense potential of newsletters, which I believe are poised to become a significant trend.
