# Celebrating Milestones: My Journey on Medium
Written on
Chapter 1: Acknowledging Growth
Receiving recognition on Medium signifies progress and personal development. Such acknowledgment is not merely a pat on the back; it's a reason to celebrate and strategize for further advancement.
Recently, I came across a post by Medium's CEO, Tony Stubblebine, titled "My keynote talk for Medium Pub Crawl." In this piece, he elaborated on the essential role of Medium Publications. According to him, these platforms exist to support writers by promoting their work, enhancing visibility, and elevating them from obscurity to prominence.
He illustrated this point with the story of a writer named Sivan Hermon. Initially, her piece had garnered zero readers. However, after her editor nominated it for a boost, the readership skyrocketed to 41,000. This transformation exemplifies the power of Medium's support for its writers.
Section 1.1: The Impact of Recognition
With the recent changes on Medium, I find myself eagerly reading articles from top executives. I strive to engage deeply with their insights, ensuring I absorb valuable knowledge.
In my interaction with Tony's post, I made a couple of comments that stood out to me:
- "Brilliant: just as I have been told and convinced."
- "Wow... This is truly astonishing. I aspire to achieve similar growth someday."
To my delight, I received two claps from the CEO himself. While a clap might seem trivial, receiving it from the leader of Medium carries profound significance. It transcends a simple acknowledgment; it represents validation from the highest authority in the community.
Section 1.2: A Gratifying Experience
Ultimately, this experience has underscored a vital lesson: "Life's Good." My heartfelt thanks to the CEO for this unexpected encouragement.
Happy Holidays to all! May you also receive recognition for your stories. I invite you to follow my journey and subscribe for updates on my future publications.
