Experimenting with Article Publishing: A Journey through Hypothesis
Written on
Chapter 1: Introduction to the Experiment
Greetings everyone,
I hope this message finds you well. This marks the third installment of my ongoing experiment on Medium. To revisit the initial findings, you can check out Part One here:
This is an Experiment: Part 1
Hypothesis: Publishing more articles in a single day should increase reads and views.
As discussed in my earlier articles, I've been exploring what happens when I publish three articles in one day. For clarity, all three pieces were crafted consecutively during my morning writing session prior to work. This ensures that the ideas are fresh and interconnected.
In the first article, I laid the groundwork and outlined the variables I intended to examine. The second article shared my aspirations for this series and included a list of variables that could be adjusted for future experiments. In this segment, I will explain the methodology I followed to carry out this experiment.
Section 1.1: Steps to Conduct the Experiment
Here’s how I approached the experiment:
- Formulated the idea to test the hypothesis.
- Submitted the first article, "This is an Experiment: Part 1," to my publication, The Daily Drip.
- Initiated a new writing session for "This is an Experiment: Part 2."
- Included a link to the first article in the second piece.
- Submitted "This is an Experiment: Part 2" to The Daily Drip.
- Started this article, "This is an Experiment: Part 3."
- Upon completion, I will submit it to The Daily Drip.
- Lastly, I will enter The Daily Drip to schedule each article according to their designated times.
This is the process I used to set up the experiment.
Subsection 1.1.1: Data Collection Methodology
I plan to gather data by capturing screenshots of my reads and views throughout the day and will also monitor the statistics for each article.
Thank you for joining me in this experiment. I eagerly anticipate sharing the results with you soon.
Cheers,
